I am the Turtle

A while back I wrote disdainfully of the turtles, yet now, I am one. Come to think of it, I had been christened a turtle a long time ago, in primary school. There was some kind of swimming competition. I wasn't fast enough so I got the green swim cap saying 'Turtle', a sort of medal of participation. Some of the girls got the blue one, the 'Dolphin'. • I walk slowly, the weight on my back slows me down, makes walking indefinitely without rest an impossibility. Though I can't leave it, it's my survival. Fine by me, I'm a slow walker anyway, and a logical excuse for a shortcoming is always welcome. There are no eagles either, nothing to worry about. Not a bad deal at all.
